First International Flight

Image
2nd May - (Friday) ' 2014 I had just finished my final exam of the last end semester. Excited, thrilled not only because I just finished my exams, but anxious to take my first trip abroad, and yeah summers were here, college would get over and I would soon be a graduate. But the big thing was still left - Poster presentation that I had requested preponed to the department and the panel agreed. Thank god, I remember my DUPC (Department Undergraduate Program Committee) Secretary saying that "if the panel does not agree, you would have to cancel the trip". Praise the lord, it did not happen. 4th May' 14 (Sunday) After finishing the poster presentation by personally going to the Prof's cabin and explaining him the work that you did for the past 2 semesters, got over. There were interesting discussions with other students which I came to know only later, one of which was " Beta, rahene do, tumse na ho paayega" types. So, this is how the long journey

Midnight Maggi Experiment

Image
Its Summer Time, And this is the time when students are either on Internships, Vacations or Chilling at Home with family & relatives. This is the time when we can experiment, and what better than our favorite Midnight snack - Maggi Noodles. Here is my secret recipe. A picture Story Step 1: Cutting the Vegetables Take Carrot, Reddish, Green Capsicum and  Green Chillies (depending on taste). Chop them into small pieces. Step 1 - Cutting The Vegetables This is how it will look like when done Step 2: Cooking  Put the vegetables on a bowl with water, noodles, Maggi Tastemaker and Maggi Masala Magic (1 tea spoon) and put them to boil. See to it that the bowl is covered for sometime when on boil and then later remove it when done. No water should remain when done, this enhances the taste of the noodles. Noodles, Tastemaker and Masala Magic Step 3: Garnish & Serve Hot Remove the noodles from the bowl and put it either on plate or another eating bowl.

Gunti Ki Chai - Experimenting with Tea

You like sipping something hot - Tea or May be coffee. Or you might be the one who would say, get me Green Tea, that's healthy. I got it all for you.... How it Began The episodes of staying up late started in Class 10th. But I wasn't into Tea at all. I remember one of Counselors who had visited my school to talk about how to mentally prepare us for the board examinations. The important note was : There are two types of student 1. Who are good at staying up late 2. Who could get up early ... and importantly study during those hours I was the one from the first lot - staying up late :D But then 11th and 12th involved staying up late, solving problems. This is a little interesting - My father used to say that its good to solve mathematics during night, c'ze when one is involved mentally and physically it would keep one active. Another thing was that we were allowed to listen to music while solving problems, which was an added bonus. ;) So, after an hou

Making India Clean

Its been a while since I updated my blog. Not that I did not come across a topic or an idea, there were many, but its about the right time. Since the last post, there have been so much going around in the country. A idea to change the politics, Aam Aadmi Party formed the government in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal resigned after 49 days of his coalition government, and how the party is eying for the Loksabha Elections. Yeah, cleaning is not just the physical one, but our society too needs to be cleaned and make it rejuvenate. But, it seems that the common Indian did not care about the society until his sleeping face got a hard punch and they woke realize that we need to do something about it. We need a similar punch once more to make aware about the filth that we all are creating each day. Last semester I we had an open elective here at IIT Guwahati. It was "Solid Waste Management", and it turned out to be a delightful change from the regular branch courses. The course taug
