Women Power - It can change the face of the country!!

Everything happens for the first time, in fact this is true. I am writing a blog has also happening for the first ever time. But my writing is not new, I have been writing since my childhood days. I was amongst the two from my 5th standard those were chosen to represent the school for the Anchor Week.
As humans, we believe that if something happens for the first time, it needs to be ‘special’. I also believe the same, so let’s make my first blog special.

So, for this, I needed a topic that is to a general interest. I dedicate this blog to the one women that has always supported me in time and in pain, loved me equally as my other sibling, cared for me as such no other thing in this world existed except for me, and I love you too ….- “My Dear Mother” !!

Now, don’t get too sentimental, let us talk about the topic indeed. The topic for this article is “Women –Power”, interesting is it not?
Women power is still in the hype these days. Especially with the successful women politicians, bureaucrats, key position holders in the corporate world. All talk about raising the girl child, they talk about gender equality, they want the women to get as much opportunity as the male child gets, with which I truly agree and am supportive of. Government is still trying its best to achieve this. May be!

We need facts to support the ideas.

  • Now, we have the Parliament bill to have 33% of the MP’s and MLA’s should be women. It is named Woman's Reservation Bill, which is in fact parliament’s 108th amendment.(Under process)
  • The state government of Jammu and Kashmir is trying its best to save every girl child born. It is giving Rs. 25,000 for the early care of the child.

But after all these efforts, the worst, bitter truth is yet to come.
Every now and then, we hear the news about killing the girl child in small, remote villages of some state of the country. Reason being illiteracy!

The truth is that still, India is world’s 4th dangerous place for women after countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan.

In the year 2009, around 100 million women were forcefully drawn in the trafficking. Amongst them about 40% of them were girls in their early teens. It is such an embracing situation in front of us. But still what are we doing – “Nothing!”

But, now let’s leave the facts and this news behind, and talk about the Women-hood, and their power to create or destroy. They have the power to bring the “CHANGE”, that this country or the world is still to see.

Now, this is what I will call the beautiful creation of thy lord after this beautiful earth. It is the ‘Yin & Yang’ of the human form of life. The male being the harsh, tough & rough, it is equally opposite to them. They are soft, sensitive, and delicate like the beautiful flower.

Now, it’s a responsibility of the male dominated society to treat their counterpart properly. They are the two wings of the life, without which it may lead to destabilized system. They need their space, opportunity, rights, and duties as well.

But nothing such happens; it is because the thinking of the male chauvinist people, that he is the head of the family, it is not good for the females to work. They are better sitting at their home, keeping the charge of maintenance of the entire house, kitchen & children.

Why is this all happening to the women? The answer to this question lies far back in our history. Look a little back in the Indian history. What it has to say? During the period in the medieval ages, it is called the “Dark age” for them. There may be only few kingdoms in the Hindustan then, which encouraged girl education. Most of them were taught hoe to handle the kitchen and few art forms which would help them after their marriage.

India has been a land of invasions, talk of Muslims, Britishers, and Portuguese. All getting different culture, language, religion & a lifestyle form along and spreading it like an epidemic in the country.
Due to these entire disturbances, yes I will call them disturbance, because it diverted us from looking into our own problems. Our own Indian family matters. Every time these invaders came, either we were forced to follow what they said, or make strategies to move them away from the country. So, during this time nothing noticeable happened which could be appreciated. It was only at the latter part of the freedom struggle that this issue gained importance and this started, it just started, we are still to go before we sleep!

But there is this very important question that men raise that why them, we have the capability to feed them throughout the life. They say they are better of like this.

I totally disagree on this fact and now let me give some arguments against this. This goes out to all the men reading this; I hope to reach the mass here. Now, men never can do many things that a woman can.

  • Multitasking: She can manage many things at the same time.
  • She can handle all relations properly giving their due respect to it.
  • A girl, a sister, a wife, a daughter in-law, a mother, and a friend, so many distinctly.

Now, it’s high time that we take it seriously. A pain that goes to be a mother cannot be felt by men. It not for days, it is for complete 48 weeks. Not a joke at all. It is a pure thing to do. God’s reflection is seen in all living things, clearly in a new born.

If we still feel them the women are left behind. Boy, observe the reality. Today, wherever there is man working, you will definitely find the counterpart working at the same level. There are many sectors where there are women heading many multi-national companies. I will not stay back giving examples. Take Indra Nooyi, CEO Pepsi-co; take Chanda Kochhar CEO-ICICI, so many women as Minister for state as well as Center in some department.

Now, it will be for the benefit of the society that we encourage the female to come up in every corner of the country. Because it is only then the country can achieve it maximum growth in all sectors and may attain a better living world.

An educated woman can change the society, but let us unite and do it until it becomes too late…

Cheers Women Power! Change the face of the World!

Hope you like it!

  4. Well done! Good topic, insightful work. Just some advice (can't help it - am an English teacher ;-))...always check your piece for spelling or grammatical errors prior to posting. Also, avoid repetition, it just makes the work longer and today people don't want to spend too much time on anything :-)
But, seriously, keep up this good work. You were always sensitive and deeply analytical and thoughtful. So expecting many more from you!
