What-a-Taste !!!

Sometimes, in life, we have such beautiful memories that narrating them to someone might bring laughter, a tear of joy, and sadness and make us realise what we are missing in our current lives. And sometimes we wish, one could have a ‘Time Machine’ to take us back in that time. This one is indeed that very incident which today, I would like to share with my readers. Let me take you ~2 decades back. Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh (1993-94 ) Incident #1 Human childhood is the best time for elders to see their children grow and for us - growing, to experiment the weirdest thing that one could ever imagine. It was the time, which seemed unbounded unbounded, the time where we had the freedom’ in terms of thoughts and actions; and even if it were naughty, we were mostly forgiven and we would hear ...  baccha hai, jaane do . Now, let me take you towards that food we ate and the experiments with our taste buds. Not the food that parents fed us with, but to those which we were ...

And I Learn To Divide

It becomes difficult to realize that I have been keeping busy since long; but it’s the truth; the last blog update was on 29 th December’2011. I realized that how badly I missed it. But, no worries, I am back with amazing stories, articles, book & movie reviews and lots more to entertain you. The story of “My experiment with fire” had an overwhelming response and I thought to share another childhood memory of mine. It was during my schooling when we were taught numbers, alphabets, to count of finger, and to identify colours. One fine day in school: Today, teacher taught us to count up to ten and for homework asked us to find how to divide numbers form respective parents. It was logically right that even numbers were something that were easy to divide and were taught first. As I was always a keen learner, I had decided that I would ask my father about the same. Papa was our (my brother’s too) second teacher after school. Primary school got over early at noon. And...

My Experiment With Fire

Image
Unlike Mahatma Gandhiji, who took several years of learning and experimenting with the ‘truth’, I look only a few days of my life for ‘my experiment with fire’. Let us see how and what all happened. Thanks to my father’s transferable job that took us to a small city in Madhya Pradesh. Location: Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh Year: 1994 Life was slow there and those times were like that too I believe. We had time for everything. My school was hardly 5 minutes walk from my house.  It was winter of that year, may be month of November, and the nights had started to turn chilly. Nobody likes leaving the warmth from the bed, to go out in such a chilly morning. But, we had the school to attend. So we had to leave the comfort in such cold mornings, to prepare for the daily school. After my mother prepared the Tiffin, she would accompany me and my younger brother to school. Sometimes, my younger brother, ( 3 years old at that time ) would cry and refuse to enter the scho...

Childhood – Our Best Time of Life

Image
I call it the most memorable & enjoyable time of life. There were no rules and restrictions imposed on our ‘innocence’. We were loved by everyone, making home after school (especially during playschool &  K.G) brought smiles on our mother. Going to grandparents during vacations released stress of a lifetime, gave them a new life in all. Those were the most cherished moments of our life. We, many times, took advantage of all that and went one experimenting with many things. We tried to dress like our mothers and fathers, imitated them, made them laugh and made them cry too. Made lots of  friends; girls & boys at that time were of the same gender that was of ‘Children’. We were free in thought & clean at heart. Only with time we get the gender tag as 'male' or 'female'. Lot of changes happen as time passes. But as time passes, we don't realize that we are leaving behind a bunch full of moments 'happy' and 'sad' that when...
